What do you know about Hay?

What’s the difference between hay and straw? What would we feed cattle, sheep, and horses if we didn't have hay? Are the farmers who leave their bales out in the field all winter just too tired to put it in the barn? My interest in these and other questions started a journey which over seven years has led to a photo documentary, a book, and travelling exhibit. The travelling exhibition, consisting of images and text and answers common questions about the fields which to many look like land laying idle. Nothing could be further from the truth.
